Thailand’s cabinet has approved cutting the 60-day visa exemption to a tiered system. The change is not law yet, and the distinction matters if you are booking anything in the next few months.

The approved proposal moves most visa-exempt arrivals to a 30-day tier, with longer stays available through an application rather than automatically on arrival.

Until it is published in the Royal Gazette, nothing has changed at the border. I will move the date on this post rather than write a second one that contradicts it.
